A List

This morning, I awoke at 5:30 AM. I had been participating in a particularly awful night of "sleep" (if that's what you want to call it) and my stomach was the culprit.

Dear Stomach,
I have no idea what I did to you yesterday. I made sure to stay away from any form of vanilla frappucinno, so I do not understand what your deal is. Please stop.

I had JUST drifted to sleep when I awoke and found myself in a dead sprint in the direction of the the dark. As if the mental picture of me running isn't enough, imagine me doing it ASLEEP, then WAKING UP, while RUNNING, in the DARK.

I'm just thankful that Cordy hadn't left any doggie toys in the middle of the living room. It's almost as if she could sense the bowel storm brewing. (Good dog, Cordy.)

All my plans to get up and exercise at 6:45 were trashed in favor of going back to bed with my heating pad and trying to catch some of this thing they call "sleep".

7:45 arrived way too fast. I got up and took a shower. It was fast and chilly, but I only had my lazy butt to blame. I was standing there, sopping wet, and I was just sad. (Lack of sleep does this to me.) I wasn't like "Oh my goodness, my day is RUINED" sad, I was just "Oh dear, this is all extremely unpleasant" sad. But then Phil Collins came on the radio (he always saves the day) and my Mom called.

It cheered me right up!

So I thought I would compile a list of things that never fail to make me happy. (Besides my family and friends. They're just a given!)

Jesus (He's a given as well, but I felt the need to put it out there.)

What can I say about Jesus? Words will never be enough to describe who He is. He is my Saviour. He is my Healer. He is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is my Provider. I can't even start to scratch the surface!!!

I'm going to put a long pause here because everything else on my list just seems so silly in comparison. (If you can even call it "comparison".)

Less important list of things that make me happy (in no particular order):

Phil Collins music

I don't know when the whole Phill Collins thing started. Probably when I was a little kiddo and my parents watched *gasp* MTV!!! Anyone else remember being little and slightly creeped out by the "In the Air Tonight" video? Anyone???

Anyway, his voice is just very comforting to me. Don't judge.

Dylan Moran stand up

I know I talk way too much about this guy, but he makes me laugh sooooo hard. I just wish he wouldn't use the "F" word so dang much! (But maybe it's a good thing that he does, otherwise my FB friends would have their newsfeeds clogged with YouTube videos ALL THE TIME!!!) He is hyperbole king, hence his adorable charm. I would make him dinner.

Hillsong/Hillsong United/Joel Houston

Hillsong music always makes me feel better. On a WHOLE OTHER level than the previously mentioned things. It doesn't matter what is wrong, if I pop in the "I Heart Revolution" DVD, I AM going to feel better in a matter of minutes. It might make me cry, it might make me dance. You just never know which reaction it is going to produce.

And Joel Houston serves as a wonderful reminder that there ARE still men out there who are completely sold out to God. Godly AND good looking, It's a win win! (I would make him dinner as well!)

I'll admit it. I am a SUCKER for all the different seasons. I just love them all. There's something to be thankful for in every single one of them. (Obviously, Spring is coming, so I drew Spring!) The romantic in me gets excited for when I will have someone special to share the seasons with.

Feeling pretty

I did my makeup this morning and I feel pretty. I also don't feel comfortable (or succeed) in taking a "pretty" picture, so here's a better (silly) one.

The lighting isn't the greatest, but you get the idea.

There are many other things that make me happy, but these were just things that were on my mind today.

What are some things that make you happy?

  1. I'm going to have to say that the "Land of Confusion" video creeped me out even more! Those dang puppets!

As for things that make me happy, a recent one is snuggle time with cuddley babies! I got to snuggle Miss KennaBug last night and Miss Everlee came to visit me today at the CU! Yay for babies!

  2. So, is it just me (call me a heathen) or is that Jesus picture a bit creepy? When it popped up I was like OH GOSH! Then I felt bad because it is my Jesus...
